Classes & Training

Reacquiring lost skills and learning new ones is a big part of recovery. At BrainCare, we have a curriculum of classes, from academic and technical subjects like math, language and computer skills, to social and emotional skills like cooking and how to cope with their injury. Vocational training helps our participants prepare for finding employment opportunities and thriving in the workplace.

BrainCare residents also have the opportunity to join participant-lead project groups. Each group selects and determines the project, then plans the details from start to finish. Examples of past projects include making and distributing hygiene kits for the homeless, cooking with vegetables grown in the BrainCare vegetable garden, and visiting a local animal shelter with homemade treats and toys.
